Rules and regulations

You are free to enter in more than one instrument/voice provided you meet the requirements of the category. For example, if you enter for classical piano, and if you also want to enter for classical violin, you may enter for the latter instrument provided you meet the requirements of the age category.

Entry fee is Rs 3000 PER ENTRY. There will be no refund if your entry does not meet the category requirements and/or if the video is unsuitable for the competition. We highly recommend you carefully read and understand the requirements of the video recording before submitting.

VIDEO RECORDING

Prepare a good quality video.

  1. You can record yourself with an ordinary smartphone. You can use professional equipment, but you’re not obliged to. The key is to aim for the best quality. Try to use a tripod and record horizontally.

    • To avoid reverberation, do not place the recording equipment too far away. For pianists, please clearly show your silhouette and the position of your hands on the keyboard. Singers and violinists need to face front and have their accompanist visible in the frame (if singers are using  backing tracks, the backing tracks should not have any lead vocals in them. Make sure that there is a good balance between the voice and the backing tracks). Guitarists need to face front and have their whole body visible in the frame. The recording needs to be done in an environment that is as quiet as possible.

    • As proof that the video recording is intended solely for the competition, the participant should announce their full name, age, name of the competition, category and the programme (piece/song names with composer details)

    • The recording must be done in a single take without any editing or splicing. Any detected audio or video editing or manipulation, will result in the participant's disqualification.

    • No microphones are permitted for any of the recordings.

    • Participants should dress in a manner appropriate for stage. No t-shirts, jeans and sneakers please.

  2. Send us your video and scores of your pieces as a Google Drive link in the application form.  Once the winners are declared, the videos will be published on our YouTube channel.

  3. By submitting your registration, you automatically authorize the organization of the competition to use this video, without payment of fees, for broadcast related to the competition; sending the videos to the jurors and publishing the videos on the website, social channels and other media.

  4. All contestants must give credit for all awards won in the NMCPA (INDIA) ONLINE WESTERN MUSIC COMPETITION in all future publicity.

  5. No participant will be admitted who has studied in the last one year with a jury member; each juror will sign a relevant declaration about the participants.

  6. Each participant will be treated individually and listened to with the utmost insight. Your recording will be viewed in its entirety.
